Special Features
There are only two particularly interesting Special Features on the George and the Dragon game, which we’ll explain in some more detail here:
Exploding Reels For More Wins
If you spin the reels and the game produces a win for you then you’ll be happy enough because you’ll have claimed back some of the money you invested in your stake. With the George and the Dragon game you can be even happier, on account of the fact that those winning symbols will ‘explode’ and disappear, being replaced by new symbols that drop down from above. The reason that’s good news is that if those symbols also line-up in a winning formation then you’ll have more money heading into your account and they’ll also explode to be replaced by symbols from above. On and on it will go until there are no more winning formations.
Dragon Bonus
The other Special Feature of this game is the Dragon Bonus. If you see a Dragon land on reels one, three and five on an active line then you’ll enter into the bonus game. You’ll be asked to select certain tools to give George in his quest to rescue the Princess from the Dragon. You’ll then receive winnings depending on how far towards rescuing the Princess George makes it before the Dragon scares him off. Your winnings will be determined by the size of your stake.
George’s Progressive Jackpot
George and the Dragon features a progressive jackpot that grows in size every time someone plays the game but doesn’t win it. You’ll be on the receiving end of that jackpot if you see five George symbols land on active lines that you’re playing. Remember, though, that how much of the jackpot you’ll win depends entirely on how much of a stake you’ve played.
The percentage you’ll take home ranges from 0.5% for a 1p stake per line, through to 100% of the amount that’s up for grabs if you’ve had your stake set at the maximum of £2. This isn’t one of the largest jackpots you’ll find on the Virtue Fusion network, but in some ways that means you’ll want to think harder about playing the full amount. After all, 0.5% of not very much isn’t very much.
Gameplay & RTP
Return To Player percentages should never dictate whether you play a game regularly or not. You can, after all, find a game with an exceptional RTP that has rubbish, frustrating gameplay. On the other hand, you may play a game that you absolutely adore that has a particularly poor RTP but you won’t mind because it’s so much fun. George and the Dragon is a case in point. The RTP of 94.4% is perfectly acceptable, even if it’s not outstanding. Yet the gameplay is a little disappointing and so the 94.4% suddenly looks on the low side.
There are a few reasons why George and the Dragon is a bit of a let down. As soon as the game loads you’re presented with a short graphic of the Dragon breathing fire in front of George, but the fire comes out in a slow and stuttered pattern. That’s something of a sign of things to come, with the game itself operating in a similarly stuttering fashion. The reels don’t spin all that smoothly and the game overall seems a little tired and past its best. There’s a blurriness to the game that makes it look quite old, especially in comparison to some of the newer games on the market.
That’s not to suggest that the whole thing is completely beyond redemption, of course. There’s enough in it for those that don’t necessarily want all of the most up-to-date graphics and bells and whistles on their games to get on board with. The symbols are fun enough, with the coquettish Princess and the classically British looking George both providing moments of fun. There’s also a cartoonish horse that George rides on that is reminiscent of a similar character from the movies. The Dragon Bonus is also quite good, even if it is quite slow to load and play. If you don’t mind games being a little old-hat in comparison to some on the market then you’ll no doubt be pleased enough. It’s definitely not one of Virtue Fusion’s finest pieces of work, however.
