There’s only one particularly interesting Special Feature of this game, which we’ll break down for you now.
Jungle Man Bonus Round
Landing a Jungle Man symbol, which is presumably the company’s way of avoiding copyright issues by not calling it Tarzan, will begin the Bonus Round. He’ll have to be on the first reel of an active line and, if he is, you’ll then be taken into a new game where you’ll find him stood on the other side of a swamp. There will be three vines in front of you, so select which one you think gives Jungle Man the greatest chance of making it to the other side. If he succeeds then you’ll end up being on the receiving end of a payout that is multiple times your stake amount.
Wilds
We said that there’s only one particularly interesting Special Feature because Wilds don’t really fall into that category. Nevertheless, the game features Wilds so it’s only right to mention them. In Jungle Madness they take the form of a Tiger, which can replace any other symbol in order to form a win line for you.
Tiger Progressive Jackpot
The Tiger symbol is not only the Wild but it’s also the symbol you’ll be hoping to see in order to win the progressive jackpot. You’ll need five of them to do it, with the amount of the jackpot you’ll win dictated by how much of a stake you placed on your winning spin. If you opted for 5p then you’ll get 2.5% of the total jackpot amount. If you went for the full £2 maximum, however, then you’ll have won the entire jackpot. As it’s a progressive, it can build up to a reasonably respectable size. Don’t be expecting the same amount for games with a maximum stake of £100+, though.
Gameplay & RTP
Jungle Madness is a perfectly acceptable little game that more than a few people will enjoy playing as a way to pass the time. It’s got a nice consistent theme throughout, with the reels standing in front of a forest of trees and the symbols made up of the likes of snakes, tree frogs, pelicans, monkeys and crocodiles. Even the Q, K and A symbols sit in front of leopard skin print or similar. Consistency of theme always makes a game more interesting, so on that front you have to give Jungle Madness its due.
It’s also fair to say that the bonus round sticks with theme that’s been outlined elsewhere in the game. The Jungle Man is a fun character, with the decision of selecting a vine to get you across the swamp a good distraction. Ultimately, though, that’s all this game really is – a distraction. There are other options out there that have more interesting storylines and use better graphics; though there’s nothing wrong with the way the reel spins or anything like that. The game is smooth enough to play but it’s unlikely to be so engaging that you’ll return time and time again.
That problem is compounded somewhat by a disappointing RTP of 93%. We’ve seen games with lower percentages, but that doesn’t mean that this one is on the exceptional end of the scale. Given the lack of particularly exciting Special Features we’d hoped for something a little bit higher in terms of how much money gets Returned To the Player, so this feels a little bit underwhelming. You should never base your choice of game on the RTP alone, but given this one doesn’t have much more to recommend it it’s not something that’s going to rescue it from the ‘if you’ve got nothing better to do’ pile.
